Match report

St Michael's failed to capitalise on a good position to lose out by 6 wickets against Prims XLCR. With Prims in trouble at 75 for 4 chasing 163, the game was evens, but St Michael's failed to take another wicket as Prims ran out easy winners.

St Michael's batted first, and made a solid start after losing Dale Harrison in the third over of the day for 2. Danny York (27) and Matt Collier (37) put on a 50 stand, and with good contributions from Will Kingston (17), Malc Swann (30) and Dave Tebbutt (14*), the final total of 163 was a good effort.

Prims came out all guns blazing, with Steve Hanwell not afraid to swing the willow. After hitting 2 sixes, he was eventually bowled by Ian Geddes for 21. Bates made a useful 33 before he was easily run out. And with the reply stuttering at 75 for 4, the game could have gone either way. But Wood (48*) and Denny (46*0 steadied the ship and guided the visitors to a 6 wicket victory with time to spare.
